Hannah Waterman was born on July 22, 1975 to Dennis Waterman and Patricia Maynard.
Both Hannah’s parents are acting stars and father Dennis has appeared in some of the biggest British TV series of all time including Minder, The Sweeney and New Tricks.
Her mother, Patricia, is also a critically acclaimed stage actress, having appeared in productions such as Blithe Spirit and Henry V, as well as making television appearances on shows such as Dr. From, where she played Miss Winters alongside Fourth Doctor Tom Baker.

She also starred in The Sweeney and Minder opposite then-husband Dennis Waterman, and is said to have also written the lyrics to I Could Be So Good For You, the lead single to Dennis’ famous Minder.
Dennis Waterman and Patricia Maynard also welcomed Hannah’s sister Julia in 1979 before the couple divorced in 1987 and Dennis married his third wife and coronation street star Rola Linska later that year.

The talent for performing certainly runs in the family, as Hannah began her acting career after joining the National Youth Theater at the age of 16.
From there she has appeared in films and TV series including The Missing Postman, Tess of The D’Urbervilles and Casualty.
However, her most famous role was as Laura Beale on the BBC series EastEnders, where she played Ian Beale’s third wife from 2000 to 2004.
During this time, Ian Bell claimed that their son Bobby Bell was not their son, and after an argument with Janine Butcher, Laura later died after falling down the stairs—with Janine initially accused of Laura’s murder.

While appearing on the series, there were also a number of family ties as her mother Patricia Maynard played her on-screen mother for a number of episodes in 2001.
Hannah also shared the screen with Dennis Waterman’s ex-wife, Rola Lenska, during a series of episodes in Spain in 2002.
Away from Albert Square, Hannah has gone on to star in television series such as The Bill, Holby City and Doctors, and most recently in the short film A Bird On a Balcony, which is currently in pre-production.
Hannah Waterman starred alongside dad Dennis Waterman in New Tricks
Between 2006 and 2010, Hannah starred alongside her famous father in the BBC New Tricks series.
During her time on the show, she was not only the daughter of Dennis Waterman – she also played Emily Driscoll, the daughter of Dennis DS Jerry’s perennial character.
She also followed in her mother’s footsteps as a critically acclaimed stage actress, appearing in productions such as the Australian production of Harry Potter, The Cursed Child and Calendar Girls.

In an interview with The Sunday People, Dennis Waterman revealed that his daughter Hannah was friends with comedian Matt Lucas when she was a student at the National Youth Theater.
Best known for parodied by David Williams in Little Britain, Dennis played a miniature Dennis who wanted to sing the theme tune to whatever part was offered to him – a reference to Dennis singing the theme to Minder.
Speaking of the drawings, Dennis told Sunday People, “The drawings are obviously very surreal but I suppose they’re both huge fans. Matt went to the National Youth Theater with my daughter Hannah and they were good friends.”
“He seemed to always ask her about her father even back then. Then, later, Matt’s chauffeur told me he even had a picture of me in his lounge, which I think is a compliment.”

However, since 2010, she has been in a long-term relationship with actor Huw Higginson, with whom she has a son named Jack.
The family also moved to Australia from the UK, but Hannah admitted it was a tough decision as she had a recurring role on the BBC’s soap doctors, telling the Daily Telegraph Australia: “It’s really starting to get better but we were like, ‘Okay, If we put it off again, we won’t, so we thought we’d give it a year.”
